Nontoxic Holiday Makeup

nontoxic-holiday-makeup-with-w3ll-people

Hi, Brave Beauties! Shirley here from W3LL PEOPLE and today I’m going to show you one of my favorite classic holiday looks using our safe, non-toxic, cruelty-free cosmetic. This look features a bold, festive lip coupled with natural, glowing skin. W3LL PEOPLE has several incredible new products debuting in 2019, and it’s my honor to preview a couple of our new innovations during today’s tutorial.

complexion

First, I prep my skin. I’m going to start with our Bio Booster Serum and our Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer. Those of you who have attended my master classes know how much I love the way these two products work together. I’m wearing Bio Tint in Medium. Typically I would match to Light, but I like to add a little color in the winter to warm my complexion. I combine about 1 1/2 pumps of Bio Tint with 2 nourishing drops of our Bio Booster Facial Serum, mix them together in my hand, and then press gently into my skin and blend.

What this creates is a custom serum foundation that delivers a really healthy finish on the skin. Slight imperfections still peek through (embrace them!), but it creates a gorgeous no-makeup makeup look that is radiant and glowy.

Next up is our Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer, which is probably the most effective piece of makeup in my routine right now. Being a proud mom and business owner equates to some pretty hefty coverage needs! Less is more- a pea-sized amount is all I need to cover both eyes. What I love about this little guy is that A) It packs in a serious amount of coverage, and B) It’s loaded with organic coffee seed oil, which is going to stimulate the complexion, calming inflammation, and diminishing any puffiness around the eyes. For the record, our Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer also contains this organic coffee seed oil and it has an SPF of 30, so you’re getting both your glow and your protection with this foundation look.

When applying your concealer, make sure not to skip your eyelids. Not only does this help to instantly open and brighten your gaze, but our Bio Correct Multi-action Concealer also acts as a great eyeshadow primer.

At this point, you could leave your skin as-is. That would be my basic everyday foundation look. But, since this is a holiday look, I’m going to add a bit of extra coverage to help my makeup last well into the night. I’m going to take our NEW Bio Base Baked Foundation in Shade 4 (medium neutral), load it up onto my W3LL PEOPLE Kabuki Brush, and press it into my skin. The coverage is light to medium. It is so silky that I will use it to set my concealer and to minimize shine in my T zone. I polish my complexion using downward strokes with the Kabuki Brush to help blend and set the entire foundation.

Time to warm it up! I’m going to use our Bio Baked Bronzer and Kabuki Brush to add some subtle contouring along the perimeter of my forehead and beneath my cheekbone, essentially creating a ‘C’ shape along the edge of my face. You’ll notice that this instantly adds warmth and dimension to your skin.

eyes

Would you like a special preview into 2019 at W3LL PEOPLE? We’ve started the buzz already, but here’s your chance to get a peek at some of the products we’re releasing in the new year, starting with our Expressionist Brow Gel (launching in February 2019!).

Start by clearing off any excess product from the brush. Apply it to brows by brushing with short, upward strokes. This is a powerful pigmented gel that acts as a brow tint and brow gel all in one. It adds just a hint of color to help your brows look fuller, and it will hold them in place all day long.

Now that you’ve met the Expressionist Brow Gel, I am also going to tease you with one more thing, our Nudist Eyeshadow Palettes, which will also be launching in early 2019. Today we’re going to create a bright-eyed look using our Nudist Taupe Palette. Next week I will be creating a sultry deep smokey eye using our Nudist Plum Palette. If you’re interested in the palette you can get first dibs when it launches by joining the waitlist

‘Bone’, a matte ivory, will be my base color. I’m going to apply this all over my eyelid. I prefer to press my shadow in which helps place it exactly where you want it.

Now, let’s add some dimension by pressing ‘Saddle‘, a warm matte tan, into our crease. I’m going to apply it by deliberately placing it into the crease of my eye. After wiping the excess color from my brush, I blend it out. You an also smooth it out with the tip of your finger to get a really natural smudged look.

Let’s add a little glow with ‘Luminaria’, a glistening champagne. This is actually my favorite color in the entire palette, I love light shades on my eyes and the way this color pops. I’m applying this to my eyelids, focusing mostly on the center and blending to the edges. Blend what’s left on the brush underneath the brows creating a soft highlight.

To further add dimension I’m going to use this illuminating bronze tone in the palette called ‘Adobe‘, which has a slight glisten to it. Once the four eyeshadow colors are in place, I use my finger to softly blend everything together.

Time for our Expressionist Liquid Eyeliner! To properly apply a tight line start by wiping any excess product off on the edge of the felt tip applicator as you extract the wand, then use the fine-pointed applicator to gently stipple the liner into the base of your lashes. It’s almost like you’re trying to dot it in between each lash hair. This technique follows your natural eye shape, makes your lashes look thicker and fuller while defining the eye. This eyeliner is built on performance and longevity, and you’ll absolutely love the way it wears.

I’m going to finish my eyes by applying our Expressionist Mascara. I think that mascara is the most magical part of any beauty routine, it just opens up the eyes and finishes the look so beautifully. I have a memorable catchphrase that I say often in my workshops, “Jiggle and Twirl”. Just nestle that wand really tight into your lashes, and then jiggle and twirl the brush all the way up to separate the lashes while delivering the perfect amount of product. I apply two coats per eye, and you’ll notice that our mascara stays malleable for a few seconds, giving you enough time to work with your lashes and apply that second coat. It doesn’t get super dry, crunchy, spidery, or flakey.

cheeks-and-lips

If you know me, you know that mascara and blush are my two most sacred products. I simply don’t feel alive without blush, and our Nudist Multi-Use Powder Duo delivers a gorgeous, universally flattering shade of warm coral along with a beautiful golden highlighter. I used our Flat Foundation Brush to apply the coral shade to the apples of my cheeks and then gently blend.

Now we’re going to highlight with the golden shade from the Nudist Multi-Use Powder Duo. This shade is super versatile…a good rule of thumb is to apply it where sunlight would naturally hit your face. I’m going to apply it onto the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead. Then I wipe off my brush and use it to blend the glow right into my skin. Our highlighter is different from our Bio Brightener Cream. It’s a powder instead of a cream, but it’s also a little warmer and golden, versus Bio Brightener which is a little cooler. Depending on your complexion and which tones you prefer, you might want to highlight with the Bio Brightener Stick instead.

The final piece of our holiday look is our Optimist Lipstick in Retrograde. If this gorgeous shade of red isn’t enough to win you over, the locking, mirrored tube will surely impress you. Retrograde is the most neutral, wearable red. It has a blue, yet warm undertone and a lot of depth, almost like an oxblood. You can apply our Optimist Lipstick directly to lips for a classic, semi-matte lipstick look, or apply it with a Lipstick Brush and blot it off to wear it as a stain. This is really the finishing touch on this holiday look!

This holiday look that can be easily transformed from day to night. Follow this tutorial for the skin, eyes, and cheeks but use a neutral Optimist Lip Shade like Let it Go for daytime. When you are ready to take it up a notch, switch to Retrograde!

Looking to stand out in the crowd, Brave Beauty? Festival season is upon us, and we have to admit that we enjoy the people watching and style peeping just as much as the on-stage acts. Elevate your festival look this year with this simple twist on the smokey eye using our plant-based, non-toxic, good-for-you Hypnotist Eyepencil and Expressionist Mascara in, you guessed it…Pro Purple! Compliment with a touch of pink and glow, and you’re ready to rock the scene this season. Below are quick step by step tips to achieve the look.

1. It’s All About That Base
Did you know that our Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer is not only amazing at concealing blemishes or under-eye circles, but is also a great eyelid primer? Swipe it from lashes to brows and tap into place with the pads of your finger.

2. Sweep it On
Next, set the entire area with our Bio Brightener Powder. This will help set the concealer and even out your skin tone. As it warms up and blends naturally into skin it offers a beautiful satin finish thanks to the crushed freshwater pearl powder!

3. Walk the Line
Use our Hypnotist Eyeliner in Plum on the eye lids starting at the lash line and coloring up to cover about half your eyelid. Don’t worry about being perfect with your lines. Next, use the basic eye brush to smoke the line out using small circular motions and working the color toward the outer corner of the eye. You’ll love that this best selling eyeliner is free of harsh adhesives, glides on effortlessly, and blends into the perfect smokey eye thanks to an all-natural formula containing jojoba oil. Blend the remaining product left on the eyeshadow brush lightly under your bottom lash line.

4. The Next Dimension
Amp up the look using our Nudist Multi-Use Powder Duo includes two powder colors that create the perfect blush and highlighter as well as gorgeous eye colors! Use Nude Blush in the crease of the eye and corners of eyes for a colorfully dramatic affect. You can pop Nude Glow onto the center of lids and underneath the brow for a sexy highlight.

5. The Show Stopper
Finish this look with two coats of our award-winning Expressionist Pro Mascara in purple! The high-tech rubber-bristled wand will help separate and lengthen lashes, while the all-natural, adhesive-free formula nourishes lashes with sunflower seed oil and adds an additional pop of purple to your look.

Get the Look: Kesha

Create Kesha's 2018 Grammys look using all-natural, nontoxic beauty products from W3LL PEOPLE!

There were more than just a few shining moments during the Grammys on Sunday evening! The bright spot for us was seeing Kesha, in all her glory, rocking both the red carpet and the stage with a beautiful message of forgiveness and empowerment. Count us way in!

We were inspired to take a few beauty pointers from this icon and were most inspired by her brown smoky eye, extra fluffy lashes and perfectly pink lips! Follow along while we show you how to recreate this look using our plant-based, nontoxic, good-for-you cosmetics!

STEP 1: Start out by perfecting Kesha’s full-coverage look with our Narcissist Foundation Stick. Using the stick, apply it directly to skin. Start at the center of your face, then use a foundation brush and downward pressing motion to press the coverage in and blend outwards to the edges of the face.  And then dab onto any other problem areas.

STEP 2: Correct any dark circles or blemishes (we all gottem), using our Bio Correct Concealer. This power-packed natural wonder provides serious coverage, but also helps de-puff, brighten and improve skin’s texture. Focus on the inner corners of the eyes, where it is usually the darkest, then blend outwards across the under-eye area.

STEP 3: Apply a light layer of our Altruist Mineral Powder to help set the base and make this look full-coverage and matte. You can also swipe a small amount across your lids to help even out eyelid color and prep them for eye makeup.

If you are oily, rely on our Realist Setting Powder to set those areas and help absorb oil throughout the day. Simply dust a layer onto your T-zone or any other areas that tend to be more oily.  Oily lids sometimes, too? Dust a bit across your eyelids if you have creasing problems and press some under the lashline to help prevent smudging from eyeliner or mascara!

STEP 4: Use our Bio Bronzer Powder to help get Kesha’s simple, smoky eye. Focus it in the crease of the eye and use circular motions to blend the color. Then use the tip of your eye brush to gently press color into the lower lashline.

Use the edge and not the tip of our Hypnotist Eyepencil in brown to do short thin strokes on the lash line (halfway across the lid) then get a basic eye brush to diffuse the color. Go from the outer corners to the inner corner. Use this same technique on the lower lash line. You can also use our Hypnotist Eyepencil in brown to fill in and shape your brows!

STEP 5: To achieve Kesha’s fully defined lash look, swipe on a few of our Expressionist Mascara Black! Make sure to go with the natural flare of the lashes (outer corner: pull towards the ears, inner corners: pull towards the nose), then use the tip of the mascara wand to define the lower lashes. The state-of-the-art rubber-bristled wand has little teeth that will help apply without getting too clumpy. If you prefer the doll-like effect of Kesha’s lashes, you can use fingers to gently pinch them together for a chunkier look.

STEP 6: Grand finale! Finish this look with our Nudist Multi Use Stick in Nude Berry #10. Use a foundation brush to apply this cream blush onto the center of the cheek and pull back to the cheek bones. Diffuse any color using the clean side of the brush or the tip of the brush.

For your pout, grab a lip brush for a more precise application and apply the Nudist Multi-Use Stick in Nude Berry #10! It’s a multi-tasking product that adds color to cheeks, eyes and lips!

Fall in Love With This Fig Makeup Look

Step by Step Beauty Tutorial: Fig Makeup Look featuring natural, vegan products from W3LL PEOPLE.

We’re embracing the arrival of cooler temps and the sound of crunching leaves, so we decided to overhaul our go-to beauty routine with some fall feels, too! Check out this simple makeup tutorial created by our team of green beauty pros to accomplish the look above.

Step 1: Set the scene for this look by prepping your skin. Make sure it is clean, exfoliated and moisturized. We recommend pressing a couple drops of our Bio Booster Facial Serum into skin to help awaken your complexion and provide a supple, hydrated base.

Step 2: Hide blemishes and erase any discoloration by applying our Narcissist Foundation Stick to face using fingertips, which helps warm up this cream foundation so that it blends effortlessly into your skin. To even-out and brighten the under-eye area, we recommend applying our Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer. Match it to your skin-tone for natural coverage, or go one shade lighter if you’d like your eyes to look brighter and more awake.

Step 3: Apply our perfectly formulated Bio Bronzer Powder (never too orange or too brown) to your face for a hint of summer color no matter the season! Our pro tip is to apply this Allure Best of Beauty Award Winning bronzer where the sun normally hits your face: focus on the top of your forehead, along your cheekbones and lightly beneath the jawline.

To get the perfectly fall cheek color seen above, we’ve combined two of our Nudist Multi-Use Cream Sticks, Nude Rose and Nude Berry! They are each beautiful on their own, but together they create a beautiful tawny mauve that adds the perfect punch of fall color. Simply combine the two shades on the back of your hand, press into the apples of your cheeks and gently blend up and back. Our Nudist Multi-Use Cream Sticks not only add sheer, vegan color, but they infuse your skin with organic aloe and antioxidants. Plus, they can be used on cheeks as well as eyes and lips.

Step 4: Next, add dimension and radiance to your face using our Bio Brightener Stick. This “magic wand” helps create a hydrated, happy, youthful glow with just a few swipes! For this look we applied Bio Brightener to the very tops of the cheekbones, sweeping upward toward the orbital bone.

To set under-eye concealer and add a bonus pop of brightness, gently set the area by sweeping a light layer of our Bio Brightener Invisible Powder beneath eyes. You can gently tap it into place using the pads of your fingers. This universal powder adjusts to suit any skin-tone, and instantly brightens and illuminates your skin with an infusion of crushed freshwater pearl powder.

Step 5: For the eyes we are keeping things simple. We started by applying our Hypnotist Eyepencil in brown to the lash line, keeping it tight, and then smudging it outwards along the lash line. Not only does this boldly frame the eyes, but by gently pressing the liner into the lashes, it helps them look naturally thicker and more lush. To add warmth to the eyes and make them pop, sweep our Bio Bronzer Powder  into the crease of your eye. Bonus! Our Hypnotist Eyepencil in brown can multi-task as a great natural, nontoxic, universal eyebrow pencil! Gently brush it into brows to fill in any sparse areas or provide more shape.

If you’d like an eye look that is slightly more dramatic, you can layer our Expressionist Liquid Eyeliner near the lashline at this point. It will help define eyes, and the simple addition of a winged end can help eyes appear bigger. Finish eyes with two coats of our Expressionst Mascara in Black (or try plum for an adventurous fall twist), use the rubber-bristled brush to work the mascara down into lashes, and then lift them upwards and outwards to lengthen and separate. If you tend to have straight lashes, and would like to provide them with natural lift and curl, try gently pressing your lashes upward while the mascara is still damp.

Step 6: Now for the grand finale: your lips! This rich color helps them stand out in a big way, but the routine is pretty simple! Simply coat your lips with our Nudist Lip Butter in Fig for a wash of rich, burgundy color. These soothing lip quenchers are our favorite product for fall and winter, because they help infuse your lips with penetrating, nourishing hydration thanks to a formula that is rich in carrot seed oil, aloe, omegas and chamomile.

ADDED BONUS: For the  entire month of October receive a FREE Nudist Lip Butter #2 in Fig with the purchase of any full-size product online or in-store. Cannot be combined with any other offer, restrictions may apply.

That’s it! A simple routine with a palette that is sure to compliment your coziest sweaters, and one that you can feel good about thanks to ingredients that are natural, clean and good for you! Try out this fall makeup look and share it with us on Instagram!
